  1. Thanks, rosebudd4689, for your comment. It triggered me to finish up and post an essay about Bundy’s “Bones for Time” scheme. You can find it here:

Let me know what you think.

  2. Regarding making copies of the audio from the Hagmaier/Bundy interviews, the .wav files can be downloaded from the website by clicking the far right button of the audio control bar.

  3. Thanks for the clarification.

Again, thank you for all your hard work!

Awesome Richard , very interesting to listen to these . I have to say Ted seems rather calm and jovial for someone who was just moved from his cell to death row cell ( with a death warrant in place , signed by the governor). Maybe he had some inkling that he’d get a stay of execution .

  5. Hi Teal, the only thing I removed from the original were periods of silence. One was particularly long, about 20 minutes. I did not remove any dialog.

Never mind I got it thank you . Thank you for your hard work

I can’t listen to them . Where do I click to listen ?

  8. I noticed that the new segments don’t last as long as the old audio. Out of curiosity, were there any parts cut in the process of making the segments?

  9. I don’t have time to listen to the whole interview yet but I couldn’t wait and sneaked in a couple of minutes. The sound is clear and I didn’t even need to turn the volume very high to be able to hear. Again, thank you so much for this and for doing the transcripts. That must be a huge amount of work. Looking forward to seeing the sketches whenever you have the time to do them.

    Have a good day!

  10. Thank you. Tape 2 has been split into several segments but is still in WAV format. That’s all set. I’d appreciate any feedback about your experience with it. I plan to convert the WAV files to MP3 as soon as I can.

I have a revised presentation of Ted’s Darksider sketches coming. I’d hoped to get it done by July but life always gets in the way of plans. Eventually I’ll get around to completing the Bundy/Hagmaier transcripts.

  11. I just found your blog and it’s great. Thank you so much for sharing all the info you have. If I understand correctly from the previous comments you’re working on re-uploading Tape 2 from the Bundy/Hagmaier interviews. Is that still a work in progress or are you done with the project?
I hope this doesn’t come off as rude.

  12. Hi MsDem, I remember you. Thanks for your advice. I’ll put it on my To Do list.

  13. Bill is there a way I could get a copy of the audio? I would pay shipping and any other costs accrued.

    Thank you kindly

    Rod

  14. hi Richard. Hope you are well. Looking forward to the rest of the Bundy/Hagmaier tape. The wav format is very large, but if you convert to mp3 format even as low as 64Kb sample rate the quality will be just about as good while the file sizes will be far far smaller. There’s loads of freeware wav to mp3 converters around and they’re very simple to use. Thought that might help as transcribing would be laborious.

  15. I have incorporated the Hagmaier/Bundy audio into the same page as the transcript. This will solve the problems I had earlier and will be more convenient for the reader. You can see this new layout on Tape 9 (1989). Tape 2 (1986) will be split into six 15 minute segments which will each use the same page layout as Tape 9. The Tape 2 Index will reflect the split allowing for easy access to the segments. The transcript for Tape 2 will take time to complete, but the audio will be available soon.

I am also working on a site that will again present the Ted Bundy “Darksider” sketches. It will be more comprehensive and, hopefully, more compelling than the old one. I plan to get it completed sometime in July.

Looking forward to seeing it. Your site is an amazing resource. Bundy ‘s a fascinating character . Keep up your great work .

  17. Thank you for your kind words. There were problems with multiple users accessing the full audio at the same time. I am planning to break it into several shorter segments. I’ll post when I get it done.

  18. Your blog is amazing . Keep up the amazing work . Thank you for sharing . Bundy is an amazing study . Is the long audio interview available ( the 1 1/2 hour interview) somewhere ? Amazing gems of information . Thank you

  19. I’m sorry that I have not had much time to work on them. I’ll do my best to at least put out a piece at a time. It’s a slow process. I’ll post here when I put out updates. Thanks for your interest.

Hi, when the transcript of the 1896 interview will be avaiable? Thank you very much!!

  21. The transcript of the 1986 interview is available as of 02/21/2017 at http://www.darksiderpress.com/Hagmaier_Tapes/Tape_2.html

I have provided a detailed subject index of the tape for now. As time permits I will incrementally add a transcript.

  22. Hooray! Thank you.

  23. Thanks for the nudge. I’ve been busy. What I can do is put up the tape without the transcript for now. The sound is a bit muffled. I found that sound enhancing software solves that problem. I’ll shoot for getting it done Tuesday.

  24. Hi there, what happened to Tape 2? I would love to listen to it!

  25. The transcript of the 1989 interview is available as of 01/23/2017 at http://www.darksiderpress.com/Hagmaier_Tapes/Tape_9.html
